2002                Office of College Advancement, Plymouth State College

Consulted to the Director of Alumni Relations in the areas of strategic change management and board development.  Created a customized program, including documentation, to train members of the PSC Alumni Association Board of Directors in basic concepts related to vision and mission in strategic planning, and followed this program with a workshop for Board members to begin developing a formal vision and mission statement for the PSC Alumni Association.

Consulted to the Assistant Director of ITS in the area of departmental training and team building.  Conducted a survey-based needs assessment, with follow-up training in the area of team development, concentrating on the characteristics of effective teams, skills required for effective member participation, and specific recommendations for the ITS team.

 

1996                Headrest, Inc., Lebanon, NH. Consulted to management and the Board of Trustees to assess the current organizational culture, develop a permanent organizational planning process, and produce a draft strategic plan for refinement and implementation by the organization.

 

1996                Cabletron Systems, Inc., Rochester, NH. Consulted to the Director of Human Resources and Director of Finance, including the development and analysis of a comprehensive employee survey assessing the need for graduate business education at Cabletron. The project resulted in an educational partnership between Plymouth State College and Cabletron to meet this component of the organization’s management education needs.

 

1996                Sceva Speare Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, NH.   Consulted to the Associate Hospital Administrator in the area of management training program development.

 

1995                Dead River Company, Bristol, NH.  Consulted to the regional manager in the area of training needs assessment, and provided a half-day workshop for management personnel from offices throughout New Hampshire and Vermont in the area of Team Problem Solving.

 

1992                New Hampshire-Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center, Lebanon, NH. Consulted to top management in the areas of conflict management, organization design, and organization development.

 

1992                University of New Hampshire at Manchester, NH.  Designed, conducted, and evaluated a college wide retreat aimed at identifying significant non-financial problems and developing solutions to those problems.

 

1991                City of Brewer, Maine.  Consulted regarding the reliability and validity of the municipality's performance appraisal forms.

 

1991                City of Manchester, New Hampshire.  Consulted regarding a grant proposal for the development of a city-wide program of participative management.

1986                State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Concord, NH.  Served as Instructor/Administrator of a three course graduate level contract training program designed to meet the management development needs of selected state employees, and to recruit new students to the PSC MBA program.

 

1986                State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Concord, NH.  Provided written recommendations for the curricula of two separate management development programs in the areas of organizational politics and succession planning.

1980                Plymouth State College, Plymouth, NH.  Coordinated the offering of the "PSC Leadership Development Workshop" for faculty in leadership positions at PSC.

 

1980                Monadnock Regional School Board, Swanzy, NH.  Report prepared outlining the nature of human relations problems at the Monadnock Regional High School, including recommendations for improvement.

 

1974-77           University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH.  Served as an internal consultant to the Office of Residential Life; involved in the design and implementation of proposals for community improvement in Forest Park, the University's family housing apartment complex.  Projects included survey research and needs assessment; the development of a community newsletter; revision of parking regulations and procedures; landscaping of the Phase II apartment complex; construction of an outdoor recreation facility for both children and adults; and the establishment of a community day care center within the complex.
