Daily and Circadian Rhythms of Locomotion in Lobster

Figure 4:  Running wheel activity in LD, DD, and LL plotted in 5 minute bins for 2 representative lobsters (A & B). Periodogram analyses produced calculated periods of 23.80 and 24.05 hr for these lobsters in LD, indicating entrainment to the LD cycle. When in DD free running rhythms were apparent with Tau values of 22.83 and 23.85 hr respectively. Black bars at top of figure=dark (D); Open bars=light (L).
